United India Insurance UIIC Assistant Exam 2017 Previous Cut Off Marks :

In the past the pattern was totally different. There used to be only 1 exam of 250 marks. Last time UIIC exam held in 2015 with cutoff marks 170 (unofficial) out of 250 . Let’s have a look at expected cut off for 2017

Exam Overall English Quant Reasoning Computer GK
Prelims 70-75 22-24 22-24 30-33 NA NA

UIIC Assistant Previous Year Question Paper – As I said the pattern was totally different in the past, syllabus was also different. This time Pattern is different, question became tougher than before. Insurance exams are more like bank Po exams. You need to prepare hard, prepare very well to clear the exam. I personally won’t advise you to rely on previous papers because they outdated. Time has changed alot and so the syllabus, pattern & difficulty level. Instead of preparing on the basis of previous paper check model papers for 2017. Still if you want to have a look at the previous years question, i found couple of them

UIIC Assistant Exam 2013 Question Paper

UIIC Assistant Exam 2015 Question Paper

Few important points to remember and Sources to Prepare United India Insurance UIIC Assistants Exam 2017 :

  • Read the syllabus carefully and prioritize the topics, since you don’t have much time to prepare focus on topics which are scoring & easy to attempt. Prioritizing will helps you to cover more syllabus in less time.
  • I spoke with my couple of friends who cleared the exam. according to them one thing is very important that is “Practice“. So before it is too late you must consider this aspect. Practice is just like spending time with your partner. More you spend time with questions, more you understand them and will get familier with them. And it becomes very easy for you to attempt and answer the question in less time while taking exam.
  • “Time management” is important while taking exam. Since you need to answer 100 question in 60 Minutes. And it is impossible to answer all the questions. So you need to select the questions carefully which you need to answer. Select easy and less time consuming questions.
  • While preparing make notes of all maths tricks and shortcut and revise them frequently. And also note down the exceptions from English Grammar that will help in solving “finding errors”
  • Join some test series so that you can identify your weak areas and work on them. So you need to physically go some coaching center, everything is online there are plenty of website that provide online test series like GradeUp, Testbook, MeritShine etc.
  • To prepare Maths tricks watch youtube videos by MeritShine, Very helpful videos, you will get enough confidence after watching and learning maths tricks. Watch videos published on SBI PO Quant section. Don’t worry these videos are not only for SBI exam. It covers major topics that may appear on any government exam. These videos are helpful to prepare Quant section of any exam. Only differnce that I have noticed in SBI PO quant and Other exam Quant is level of difficulty. SBI PO quant is relatively difficult than Others. So If you prepare for difficult, you will able to attempt easier question efficiently. Questions in UIIC Asst exam may be easier if we compare it with SBI PO exam, but in reality it is a diffcult exam which require a lot of practice and hard work.

9 Points to Remember If You are Thinking of A Govt Job in India

November 11, 2019 by admin Leave a Comment

9 Important Points you must Read before you start preparing for Govt Job in India

All those who want to get a Govt job in India, must read these points before start preparing for an exam.  This will help you save your precious time and your parents’s hard earned money.

1. Realize your Aim. This is a very important step. It is important to analyze your capability and decide what exactly you want to be in your life. If you have no aim, no goal, you will reach no where.

2. Know everything about the job profile ( Duties, responsibilities). Next step is to know everything about the job profile. When you know everything about the Job profile you get to know the importance of that position. And during preparation always keep in mind those things that you will achieve after you clear the exam. This thing will keep you motivated. Self motivation is very important to clear any govt exam or to get a govt job. Generally students start preparation with too much aggravation and in couple of months they just dump everything. And some students prepare irregularly (Means prepare 2 months and skip 1 month, prepare for another 1 month and skip 2 months) , they take couple of attempts, get frustrated, feel boredom and say “this is too difficult”. Exam is not difficult, difficult is to keep yourself motivated, difficult is to be regular and punctual in your preparation. So if you start preparing for any exam, and gets frustrate in couple of months or couple of attempts, just don’t stop preparing. Keep yourself motivated and trust yourself.

3. Read the Prescribed syllabus carefully. Analyze all Subjects. Analyze the topics you are weak in, and also the topics you are Good in and make a table. As you need to work hard on the topics you are weak in. If you have 2 tier exam (Prelims and Mains), take them altogether. Do not think like “first I will prepare for pre and if I get through I will prepare for mains” . This statement means you don’t trust yourself and you are not going to prepare well. Have faith in yourself and take both tiers together. Two reasons why should prepare for both tiers together (i) You won’t have enough time to prepare for mains (ii) However the syllabus is approximately same but you find more difficult questions in mains. So if you prepare for the hard exam (Main) you will be able to clear the easier one (Prelim) without any difficulty

4. Analyze time. Analyze how much time you have for the upcoming exam and how much time you need to prepare for that particular government exam. Make a time table and decide your study hours in a day and stick to that time table. This will help you complete your syllabus or preparation on time.

Here’s the Quick Info-graphics

5. Division of Topics. Divide your topics from all the subjects in the days you have to prepare. Prepare all the subjects altogether For e.g if you have subjects and have 5 hours a day to study. Then read all 4 subjects for 1 hours, in the last hour revise what you have studied and practice some questions. Because if you prepare subjects one by one, and when you reach to subject 4, you will forget everything that you have studied 1st subject. There you will take more time to revise 1st subject.

6. Study Material. Find the right and authentic source to prepare for the govt exam.Do not multiple publisher’s books for one subject. Watch Youtube videos, there are plenty of videos on Youtube where you can learn tricks. Remember buying more and more books will not get you through. Buy less books and make sure whatever study material you are buying contains relevant content.

7. Practice Often as it will improve your performance and will increasing your speed in answering the question. Afterall, govt exams are all about knowledge, Speed and Time Management.

8. Join test Series. Prepare for a week and take test on Weekend. This will help you find your where you are lacking and will help you find your weaknesses and it is very important to mitigate weaknesses.

9. Take Regular Mock test for atleast last 20 days before the examination.Doing this will improve your accuracy and will help you find where will you stand in the real examination.

All these point will contribute towards your govt job preparation. I got these points from those candidates who already cleared some or other government exam. And I am sure if you trust yourself, be serious and punctual and prepare for the exam properly, you will get through.

  • Click here to know overall state wise Cut off for 2015 ,2014, 2013 & 2012

Important Tips to Crack RBI Assistant Exam 2017 and Sources to prepare :

1. Prepare both prelims and mains together. Many candidates commit this mistake. They prepare for only prelims and decide to prepare for mains only if they clear Prelims. This approach is very wrong. By chance or by luck (which happens very rarely) if you clear the prelims, you won’t have enough time to prepare for Mains. Mains exam is just an advanced version of prelims with much more difficult questions. So if you prepare for advance (Mains) you can easily crack basic (Prelim exam). However there are few that you will see in Prelims but not in Mains & Vice Versa. So prepare those topics accordingly

2. Make sure you go through full syllabus and determine or make a list of very important and less important topics. Do it for prelims and mains both.

3. Now make a list of those important topics you are Weak in. Because thats what make you crack the examination. And definitely you need to work hard in topics you are weak in. Working hard includes fixing the study hours, learning all kinds of shortcuts, lot of practice (important), take tests, Join test series (important), analyzing yourself from time to time, checking on a regular interval whether you have overcome your weaknesses or not etc.

4. Practice lots of questions on a particular topic. Practice is extremely important to crack any government exam. If you just keep learning tricks and not trying to solve question, that is just waste of time. Let’s say you have fixed 5 hours a day for your preparation. Then you should study or learn shortcut or tricks for 3 hours and you should practice questions in the remaining 2 hours. Practice is very very important. You can skip it if you have an extraordinary brain. ? ? Just kidding. But do practice.

5. Don’t buy too many books to learn tricks. Buy Books that gives you variety of questions to solve.

Click here for Practice Questions for Prelims (A nice workbook by Kiran Prakashan)
Click here for Practice Questions for Mains (Again by Kiran Prakashan)

6. If your English section is weak. Then it is time to make it strong. Aspirants generally take this section very lightly, which is not good. This is the section which takes very less time, due to lack of preparation in english candidates make lot of mistakes. So you can take benefit of this section. You can use this section as a weapon to defeat the monster. Take this section very seriously if you haven’t taken it seriously. It contains two sections – Grammer & Vocabulary. Examiner generally ask for exceptions. If you haven’t read those exceptions, you will definitely get negative marks. There are two important books, you must check those books atleast once. Very nice books, extremely helpful.

–> For Vocabulary – Word Power made easy by Norman Lewis (Click here to check). You will love reading this and you will see improvement in vocabulary as you keep on reading.
–> For Grammer – Objective General English by SP Bakshi (Click here to check). Very nice book for those with weak grammer. It contains lots of exceptions which are helpful from exam point of view. You may find this book a little boring. But content in this book is very nice.

7. Make sure you complete your preparation 15-20 days in advance. Keep these 15-20 days for Test series. Take 1 full length test everyday. Check your result. With the help of this result you will be able to find your weak areas or weaknesses that you can mitigate in other few days. This also helps you in time management.

8. Time Management. Very important thing and it require good strategy when you are taking the real test. Very basic thing to understand is, you will have 60 minutes to solve 100 questions. Right? and you know practically it is not possible to answer all 100 questions. Agree? So you have to select the questions carefully that you can answer in time and reach the cutoff. In real exam you may find few easy questions which are really easy and you can answer them in few seconds. You may also find other easy questions which you can’t answer in few seconds. which may take upto 2 or 3 minutes to answer. Those questions are generally a trap. Very easy, attractive but time consuming.

How to Read Newspaper for IAS Exam ?

November 11, 2019 by admin Leave a Comment

Important Tips to Read Newspaper for IAS Exam

UPSC exam is one of the most challenging exams in the country. It requires a lot of dedication, determination and consistency to clear the exam. Current affairs assumes huge importance in all the three levels of this exam. It is impossible to clear the examination without current affairs preparation. An aspirant must make it a habit to read the newspaper on a daily basis. It is important to read at least one newspaper thoroughly and make short notes out of it so that it comes handy at the time of revision. So develop a habit of reading at least one newspaper on the daily basis. Read on to understand how to read Newspaper for IAS Exam.

Things to keep in mind while you Read Newspaper , if you are preparing for Civil Services Exam

  • Keep a copy of the UPSC syllabus while reading the Newspaper so that you know the articles that are relevant for the exam. One does not have to read all the articles in the Newspaper, as the questions that are asked in the exam are well within the boundaries of the syllabus.
  • Follow one Newspaper regularly. Choose a News Paper, preferably The Hindu and follow it on a daily basis. One does not have to read many Newspapers. Reading one Newspaper thoroughly would suffice.
  • You can skip the articles relating regional news as it won’t be asked in the examination. You can read through an article if you think it will help you answer any sort of question related to your region in the personal interview.
  • National news is extremely important. Aspirants must focus on the verdicts given by the Supreme Court and the High Court, orders passed by the government, bills tabled in the parliament etc.
  • Make sure to cover the Editorials extensively. This is the most important area in the Newspaper which holds relevance in UPSC preparation. Aspirants must read the editorials thoroughly and make short notes out of it, which will come handy at the time of revision. The editorials provide in-depth analysis of the issue in news. This helps in understanding various perspectives to a single topic.
  • Avoid reading political news as they do not serve any purpose in the UPSC preparation. Just rush through the articles if you feel that they have relevance to the UPSC syllabus.
  • News articles dealing with International issues must also be covered thoroughly. This helps in covering the International Relations part of the UPSC syllabus.
  • Business News has relevance to the Economy portion of the UPSC Syllabus. Hence, the aspirant must selectively read the articles related to education, health, women, etc.
  • Sports section holds minimal importance for the UPSC Civil Service You can avoid this page unless you like to follow the news relating to your favorite sport.
