National School of Drama, New Delhi (nsd.gov.in) recently displayed the Three Year Diploma Course in Dramatic Arts (2016-2019) Admission Notice. The offline applications are invites eligible candidates to apply for three year diploma course (full time-residential) in Dramatic Arts. The eligible and interested may apply for NSD New Delhi – Diploma Course in Dramatic Arts Admission 2016 Notification on or before last date.

National School of Drama, New Delhi will conduct the Preliminary Test for shortlist of applicants for admission into Diploma Course in Dramatic Arts. The admissions selections made will be decided by the government based on merit in Preliminary Test / Audition and Final Workshop.

National School of Drama Diploma Admissions 2016

The National School of Drama (NSD) invites applications for admission to its three year diploma course (full time-residential) in Dramatic Arts. The course starts from July month of 2016 and aims at training students to become professionals in the area of acting, design and other theater related disciplines.

Essential Qualifications:

1. Graduation in any subject from a recognized University in India or Abroad.
2. Participation in at least 6 theatre productions.
3. Working knowledge of Hindi & English.

Age limit : As on 1st July 2016

The applicant age should be in between 20 years and 30 years as on 1st July 2016
Minimum 20 years
Maximum 30 years
The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST candidates only.

Reservation for Various Category Candidates (SC/ST/OBC/Physically Disabled Persons)

Total Number available seats: 26 seats

• 4 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled castes
• 1 + 1 seat is reserved for scheduled tribes including N.T.
• 7 seats are reserved for OBC (except Creamy Layer as notified by the Government) and physically disabled persons, as per Govt. of India rules.

Selection Process

• The applicants have to check their application status through online official website at http://nsd.gov.in/
• The eligible candidates for Preliminary Test / Audition list will be appear in the National School of Drama website
• Shortlisted candidates have to participate in the Preliminary Test/Audition at their respective exam center and date
• The Exam center name and date check above of this article.
• The Preliminary Test / Audition qualified candidates have to attend a workshop of 5 days in the School premises from 10th to 14th July, 2016, for their final selection

Note : The candidates who are eligible to attend a workshop they will be paid D.A. and 3 tier Sleeper class train / bus fare from the place of their residence to Delhi & back by the shortest route, on submission of ticket / cash receipt and will also be provided accommodation on modest sharing basis.

Financial assistance:
All selected students will be given a monthly scholarship of Rs. 6000/- p.m. to meet their academic and related expenses.

Physical fitness:
The students selected for admission will be required to undergo a medical test for physical fitness at NSD Delhi. Their final selection is subject to clearance of the fitness test.

How to apply:

Step 1

Application fee : Rs. 225/- (Rupees two hundred twenty five only) (Including Postal Charges)

Payment mode : Demand Draft / Pay Order in favour of The Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi.

To receive the application form and prospectus (in English & Hindi) by post, the eligible candidates have to write request form along with Demand Draft / Pay Order must reach “The Dean, Academic, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhaawandas Road, New Delhi – 110001” on or before 16th May 2016

Step 2 : The application form & prospectus will also be available from the Book Shop of the National School of Drama from 5th May 2016 to 30th May 2016 on cash payment of Rs. 150/- between 10.00 am to 1.00 pm & 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm on working days.

Step 3 : The application form can also be downloaded from the school website www.nsd.gov.in – from 2nd May 2016. The downloaded application form must be sent along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 150/- in favour of The Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi in an envelope titled “Application for Admission-2016 -19″.

Application Process :
The duly filled application form along with relevant documents & complete in all respects must reach To Dean Academic, National School of Drama. Bahawalpur House, Bhaawandas Road, New Delhi – 110001 on or before 30th May 2016.

Note : No application form will be entertained after the last date in any circumstances.
