Post Tracking Online

The Online tracking system for checking the Services of Speed Post can be checked on the Indian Post Office official site. Each customer who sends through the speed post gets the unique 13 digit id for suing the online facility.

1. Visit the Indian Post Office official site link.
2. In the Unique id box specify the unique alphanumeric code given by the Postal department for the individual speed post service.
3. The code given for tracking purpose is not case-sensitive that is code can be used either in CAPS or small letters.
4. Select the corresponding GO button near the box where the code has been entered. The next page displays the speed post status of the specified consignment.
5. The data on the Indian Post Office site is available only for three months after which it is automatically removed.

Speed Post Tracking Through SMS

For the betterment of services already being provided by the Postal Office, they initiated another step by unveiling the tracking facility through SMS facility of mobile. During the initial phase this facility was for the Speed Post and eMO also known as the electronic money order

The steps involved:

1. The SMS that is to be send is done in the following format to the number 55352:For Speed Post:SP<space>Speed Post numberOREMS<space>Speed Post numberFor eMO:MO<space>eMO PNR NoOREMO<space>eMO PNR No
2. Don’t specify ‘IN’ post the Speed post number. For example if the Speed Post number is EE123456789 in the format of the message to be send is: SP EE123456789. The information to be entered is not case-sensitive.
3. The information is only available for three months. This is available from the date the shipment was booked for speed post or eMO.
4. The service is for all the centers all across the country. The service provider charges for the SMS facility are applicable.

Speed Post Passport Service

The other service that the Indian Post provides in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs is to help in getting the passport. The application for applying for the new passport is available with the Speed Postal service. Anyone can purchase the form from the department and then after filling and submitting to the Postal department along with the document that have been asked and pasting the photograph where specified. The Speed Post centers then verifies the form and directs them to the specified passport office. The passport office then verifies the received documents and sends the issued passport through the speed post. This facility is for getting the new password and not for the renewals of the passport.

The fee of the speed post is reverted back if the shipment is not done.
It takes around 2 days for shipment within metro cities and 4 to 6 days for any other place.
