The AGNI – V – MISSILE was successfully launched by the Ministry of Defense of India from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. It is the fifth in the series of Agni missiles. The missile is also capable of carrying nuclear warheads. This missile is capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 5 thousand kilometers with precision. Hyderabad DRDO company is making these missiles. It is an intercontinental missile, the entire Asian continent will come within the range of this missile.
Running on three-phase solid fuel. 17.5 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. It has a weight of 50 thousand kg. Can carry 1,500 kg of nuclear weapons.
Agni missiles are Agni – I, II, III, IV, V, VI. Agni – I,II,III,IV,V are available for Defense Department. In this Agni – VI is in the experimental stage.
