GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH DEPARTMENT OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION has issued the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) 2018 notification for admission into Diploma Courses in Engineering and non Engineering for the academic year 2018 – 2019. All the eligible and interested candidates are advised to apply for POLYCET 2018 through online on or before last date i.e. 14th April 2018. What is POLYCET?
POLYCET is a Polytechnic common entrance test conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Amaravati for admission into Diploma level programs conducted in Government, Aided, Private, Un-aided Polytechnics and Second Shift polytechnics run in existing Private un-aided Engineering Colleges. Every candidate desirous of seeking admission into Engineering/Non – Engineering Diploma course can apply online for POLYCET-2018. No separate application form for admission is prescribed. The filled in application for POLYCET-2018 itself is an application for admission. For admission into the Diploma Courses like Hotel Management and Catering Technology, D. Pharmacy, the entry qualification is 10 + 2 or 12th Standard.

Eligibility Criteria to appear for Common Entrance Test
- Candidate shall be an Indian National
- Candidate should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh as defined in G.O.(P).No. 646, Education (w) Dept., dated 10-07-1979 and its subsequent amendments.
- Candidates should have passed S.S.C. Examination conducted by State Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Secondary Education, A.P/TS. such as Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), Indian Council for Secondary Education(ICSE), National Institute of Open School (NIOS), A.P. Open School Society (APOSS), X class examination conducted by various State Boards of Secondary Education in India with Mathematics as one of the subjects, and obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
- Candidates belonging to NIOS/APOSS/CBSE/ICSE/OTHER Examinations recognized as equivalent to SSC by A.P. Govt. SHOULD HAVE PASSED ALL THE SUBJECTS including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, with minimum of 35% Marks in each subject.
- Candidates who appeared or are appearing for SSC or equivalent examination being held in March/April-2018, and whose results are yet to be declared can also appear for POLYCET-2018
Age Limit: There is no age restriction for appearing for POLYCET-2018. However maximum eligible age for obtaining a scholarship, the guidelines prescribed in Memo No. 10537/SW (Edn.2)/2011, and issued from time to time by Social Welfare (Edn.) Department shall apply.
Note: Mere appearing for POLYCET-2018 and obtaining a merit rank does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission automatically unless the candidate fulfils the requirements laid down for admission.

Fill in the Application form as per the guidelines:
- First fill the 10th Class Hall ticket No., Year of pass and Date of Birth.
- Fill your name as per school records with one letter for each box. Leave a gap between parts of your name.
- Fill your father’s name
- Fill in your date of birth in DD MM YYYY [Date /Month/Year] format.
- Fill in your address details (House Number, Village/ Street, Mandal /Town/ City, District, PIN code, mobile number for correspondence
- Fill in the place where you would like to appear for Examination. Click here to Refer the Examination/ help line centers.
- Enter the area code to which you are local to Andhra Pradesh.
- Enter your reservation category (BC/SC/ST)
- Enter your special category, if any (CAP/SP/PH/NCC).
- Fill in minority community details (Other than Hindu) as entered in your school records.
- Fill in your willingness to appear the examination in Urdu medium. Examination in Urdu medium will be conducted only at Guntur and Nandyal centers.
- Sign the declaration with regard to your physical fitness to pursue the Polytechnic courses.
Note : The filled in application form with photograph affixed (Do not staple and Do not sign on the photo) and duly signed by Parent/Guardian should be submitted to the computer operator at the nearest Aponline /Meeseva / Payment gateway / Net Banking/ Help Line center with a cash payment of Rs 350/-.
