All applicants that counselling for admission to following programmes will be held on 02 July 2018 (Tentatively – exact date update soon) as per schedule given below

Reporting to Department – 9.00 AM
(Room No-26, A WING, UTD Building)
Verification of Documents – 9.45 AM to 1.30 PM
Issue of Challan for fee deposit –10.30 AM onwards
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO BE PRODUCED FOR VERIFICATION/SUBMISSION
- 10th class mark sheet
- 12th class mark sheet
- TC/CC/Migration (Only original is accepted)
- 02 recent passport size photographs
- Valid Caste certificate (if required)
- Income certificate (for proof of OBC non-creamy layer category)
- Gap certificate in the form of affidavit in original (as applicable)
- Mark sheet of qualifying examination
- Undertaking of Anti-ragging from candidate/Guardian (to be provided by the office)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
1. Amount of Fee shall be as given in admission brochure
2. Relaxation in upper age-limit/ reservation of seats will be as per GOI / UGC / Vishwavidyalaya rules
3. Mere call for counselling does not ensure admission. Admission is strictly subject to satisfying eligibility conditions as given in admission brochure.
4. Working hrs of the university is 9.30 AM to 6.00 PM (Bank closing 4.00 PM)
5. All photocopies to be submitted should be self-attested

Department of English and Foreign Languages
Head : Dr. Anurag Chauhan
Established in 1990, the Department of English and Foreign Languages has been endeavoring to provide the students a firm grounding in English studies in a very congenial atmosphere of teaching and learning. The interest in literary studies can be seen in the growing number of undergraduate students who opt for English as their honours subject. Students aspiring to obtain a post graduate degree in Literature in English get introduced to all the important aspects of literature’s written in English.
The syllabus incorporates the latest aspects of literary studies and research so as to prepare the students well for research and teaching. A stimulating ambiance in the Department, regular seminars, assignments and special invited lectures on specific portions of syllabus enhance the purpose of imparting quality education. In addition, text reading sessions, group discussion and literary and extra-curricular activities are regularly organized. All this is well supported with a well-stacked departmental library, access to journals, and free access to high-speed internet available in the department. With the availability of all these, the Department has become a hub of activities. The students take active part in extracurricular activities, in drama performances and in environment related issues.
The academic excellence of the faculty members reflects in the continuous publication and participation in national and international conferences. The Department has had a visiting professor from USA under Fulbright Scheme. Professors from abroad have also been to the department for teaching in the two GIAN Courses (MHRD Scheme) organized by the department. Faculty members of the department have been abroad for teaching assignments and for presenting papers in conferences.
The Department seeks to have further involvement in collaborations for exchange and visit of scholars to and from different national and international institutions. The Department also arranges for teaching of English and Communication skills in Remedial English classes and classes for NET, UPSC and other competitive examinations.
The number of our students clearing NET has been increasing every year. Our placement record is excellent, with most of our former students teaching in prestigious schools and colleges in various parts of the country. In addition, many of our students are in good positions in administration, media, animation and other diverse fields. The students have also presented papers and have been appreciated at seminars. The Department is also a recognized research centre with all facilities.
