Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission has been established by the Government of Bihar under section 17 of the Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act, 1998. The function of the commission is to determine the tariff for generation, supply, transmission and wheeling of electricity, wholesale, bulk or retails as the case may be within that state and regulates electricity purchases and procurement process of distribution licensees including the prices at which electricity shall be procured from the generation companies. Recently, it published the recruitment notification to fill its 11 vacancies in various posts.
